A YEAR BETTER – WORK PACKAGE 4: Piloting to 120 targets

A YEAR BETTER consortium is pleased to announce the launch of the Work Package 4 activity: Piloting the AYB Training with 120 target group representatives. Piloting activity involves real-world testing with target audiences to assess usability, effectiveness, and impact. It aims to gather feedback, refine training materials, and monitor user satisfaction and preferences through anonymous usage statistics to monitor performance, usability, as well as user satisfaction and training preferences. Project partners will deliver AYB trainings, channeling through as many participants as possible, according to their internal schedule to ensure the maximum exposure. AYB training material includes a set of 10 training modules, available on the AYB OER Platform, each aligned with the 21 competencies outlined in the DigComp framework. A minimum of 120 seniors will be trained. Feedback from the particicipants will be collected from interested parties involved in training (participants, trainers, staff members, etc.,) at the end of each training course. Thanks to the results obtained by the piloting activity, project partners will further fine-tune AYB Training accordingly, in its final version. UNITY EUROPE Project Announces Successful Validation of Innovative Digital and Gamified Integration Tools for Young Migrants

The UNITY EUROPE consortium (Project No: 2023-2-FR02-KA220-YOU-000174752) is proud to announce the successful conclusion of its pan-European piloting and validation phase. Following months of intensive testing across Cyprus, France, Spain, and Türkiye, the project has confirmed the high efficacy of its innovative pedagogical resources in fostering the social and professional integration of young migrants and marginalized youth. Addressing the critical intersections of digital exclusion, employability, and psychosocial well-being, UNITY EUROPE has developed a comprehensive learning ecosystem. This includes a multilingual Open Educational Resources (OER) Platform and the UNITY Card Game, a gamified methodology designed to facilitate dialogue on complex social issues such as inclusion, civic values, and discrimination. Empirical Validation and Key Performance Indicators The piloting phase involved a diverse cohort of 130 participants, including young adults (aged 18–30) and professional youth workers. The cross-national results indicate a transformative impact on learner confidence and technical proficiency: A Strategic Step Toward Inclusive Youth Work “The piloting phase has demonstrated that combining structured digital learning with gamified, interactive methodologies is not just effective—it is essential for reaching vulnerable youth populations,” stated a project spokesperson. “The feedback from over 100 professionals and learners validates that UNITY EUROPE tools are scalable, transferable, and ready for long-term integration into European youth work programs”. ALL-IN Project Concludes with Online Closing Meeting

The ALL-IN project held its online Closing Meeting on 11 December 2025, bringing together all partner organisations to review achievements, assess impact, and outline the final steps of the project. The meeting opened with a welcome and introduction led by IT Solutions for All, followed by a comprehensive overview of WP1 Project Management, including quality assurance processes and the project’s impact exercise. These sessions highlighted the coordination efforts and evaluation mechanisms that supported the project throughout its lifecycle. The outcomes of WP2 Assessment and Best Practices were presented, showcasing key insights gathered during the research and analysis phase. Then, the focus shifted to the practical results of the project, with presentations on the ALL-IN Toolbox and Gamification under WP3. The meeting continued with an overview of WP4, covering the ALL-IN OER Platform, test and validation activities, and dissemination actions. The agenda also included a dedicated session on green and sustainable practices, reinforcing the project’s commitment to sustainability. The meeting concluded with a joint discussion on next steps and final remarks from all partners, marking the formal closure of the ALL-IN project and celebrating its collaborative achievements. After 24 months of implementation, all planned activities and expected results have been successfully achieved. The Closing Meeting served as a moment to reflect on the project’s overall impact and collaborative work, while confirming that the ALL-IN project will officially come to an end on 31 January. SIMPLE concludes Work Package 2 and sets the stage for the next phase of activities

The SIMPLE project has concluded Work Package 2 (WP2), laying the foundation for a scalable and transferable model to support the labour market integration and social inclusion of Ukrainian refugees across Europe. As part of WP2, the consortium conducted a comprehensive mapping of over 80 social innovation initiatives across Europe. The selection included projects supported by EU programmes – such as EaSI, Urban Innovative Actions (UIA), Erasmus+, and Interreg – as well as national and regional initiatives from partner countries. This mapping aimed to identify both inspiring practices and systemic challenges in the fields of integration, employment, and inclusion. The complete repository of mapped initiatives is accessible here: https://simpleinnovation.eu/repository.php?lang=EN From this broader repository, the consortium extracted 13 best practices that were particularly well-documented, impactful, and aligned with the SIMPLE project’s objectives. These are analysed in depth in another key project deliverable: The Social Innovation Compendium, available at: https://simpleinnovation.eu/assessment.php?lang=EN Among the 13, three model initiatives were selected as the primary inspiration for the development of SIMPLE’s Theory of Change: The Theory of Change, available on the project website, outlines how the SIMPLE model is expected to generate meaningful and sustainable impact. Drawing on selected elements of the three model initiatives, it proposes an adaptable, modular approach that can be tailored to diverse national and local contexts.  This Theory of Change will serve as the foundation for the stakeholders’ engagement activities to be performed in all partner countries under WP3 and pilot actions to be carried out in Poland and Italy under WP4. In these two countries, partners will: In Poland, the focus will be on employment activation, while in Italy, activities will revolve around empowerment and entrepreneurship pathways. Both pilots will be closely monitored to assess short-term and longer-term changes in participants’ inclusion and integration trajectories. SIMPLE partners met in Pescara to consolidate the foundation of a new inclusive model

The partners of the SIMPLE project gathered in Pescara (Italy) on 29 October 2025 for the second Transnational Project Meeting (TPM), hosted by IDP European Consultants, to review and finalise the deliverables developed under Work Package (WP) 2 – Assessment of the existing evidence and building the foundation of a new approach/model. SIMPLE, co-funded by the European Union under the ESF+, aims to design and test innovative approaches to social inclusion and civic participation, building stronger bridges between institutions, communities and citizens to better support the integration and empowerment of Ukrainian refugees. During the meeting, partners discussed the progress made in WP2’s deliverables, focusing on the evaluation of qualitative and quantitative indicators and the fine-tuning of the Theory of Change to ensure readiness for submission to the Agency. The consortium collaboratively validated the main outcomes of WP2, setting a solid foundation for the next project phases. The agenda also included sessions on stakeholder mapping (WP3), pilot planning (WP4), and dissemination (WP5), reinforcing the integrated approach of SIMPLE in linking research, fieldwork and social impact. Official launch of the SIMPLE project: “Social Innovation Models to Promote Learning and Employability”

The SIMPLE project has officially launched with the aim of enhancing the social and professional inclusion of Ukrainian refugees across Europe. Co-financed by the European Commission under the ESF+ Social Innovation Initiative, SIMPLE responds to the urgent need for coordinated, innovative actions to support individuals displaced by the war in Ukraine by fostering sustainable employment pathways and social cohesion in host communities. On May 19th, the Kick-Off Meeting of the project took place in Brussels at the premises of the Belgian partner, Institut de Haute Formation aux Politiques Communautaires, gathering all the partner organisations to establish the project roadmap and align on shared objectives. The consortium comprises a diverse network of organisations from across Europe, bringing together expertise in education, training, research, digital innovation, public policy, and refugee support. CTS Customized Training Solutions sp. z o.o. Project Objectives and Activities Over the course of 18 months, SIMPLE will design, pilot, and promote scalable models of social innovation aimed at reducing barriers to employment and social integration for Ukrainian refugees. The project will achieve this by: Evaluating existing evidence and best practices to establish a new approach/model for enhancing Ukrainian refugee employability and integration; Mapping, engaging, and empowering stakeholders from various sectors (public, private, academic and civil society) to support and implement the new social innovation approach for Ukrainian refugees; Implementing and testing the developed model of social innovation in real-world settings to validate its effectiveness and adaptability; Promoting project outcomes, enhancing stakeholder capacities, and ensuring sustainable impact through comprehensive dissemination and stakeholder empowerment activities. The kick-off meeting featured an in-depth overview of the implementation timeline, deliverables, and performance indicators. A YEAR BETTER Launches Its OER Platform to Empower Seniors Through Digital Skills

A YEAR BETTER consortium proudly announces the launch of its Open Educational Resources (OER) platform, a key milestone in its mission to promote digital inclusion and support active ageing across Europe. Co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, A YEAR BETTER brings together six partners from Spain, Poland, Italy, North Macedonia and Belgium. The project aims to equip elderly citizens with essential digital skills, helping them navigate everyday tasks, combat loneliness and foster social participation through technology. The newly launched AYB OER Platform will serve as a dynamic, user-friendly online space offering: Training materials in 6 languages – ensuring accessibility for a diverse European audience. Digital survival skills resources – mapped against the EU’s DigComp framework. A repository of digital tools – designed to reduce isolation and promote inclusiveness. Bridging the Digital Divide: A YEAR BETTER Project Launches to Support Seniors

On December 13, 2024, the six partner organisations of the A YEAR BETTER (AYB) project gathered online for the official launch meeting. Co-funded by the Erasmus+ program, this innovative initiative brings together partners from Spain, Poland, Italy, North Macedonia and Belgium, with a shared mission: fostering a digitally inclusive society for the elderly. The meeting started with a warm welcome and introduction by IT Solutions For All (ES) as the project’s coordinator. This was followed by a round of presentations where each partner had the opportunity to introduce their institution. The core agenda of the A YEAR BETTER kickoff meeting focused on key project milestones and collaboration strategies. IT Solutions For All introduced the project’s goals and timelines, followed by IAL FVG’s presentation on mapping digital survival skills for seniors, aligning with the DigComp framework, and curating digital solutions to combat loneliness and foster inclusiveness. E-Seniors outlined the development of AYB training in six languages to ensure accessibility across Europe. IT Solutions For All also presented the creation of an open educational resource (OER) platform to host and pilot these materials. The meeting wrapped up with a review of upcoming tasks and collaboration plans, setting the stage for the project’s next steps. The ALL-IN toolbox for inclusive communication is now available

We are proud to announce the official publication of the Inclusive Communication Toolkit, developed as part of Work Package 3. This innovative educational resource is designed to promote fair, respectful and representative communication practices in the education, youth and training sectors. The Toolbox features a series of eight training modules, available for free on the project’s OER (Open Educational Resources) platform, and translated into five languages (EN, FR, ES, IT, PL): Essential Approaches to Inclusive Communication An introduction to the core principles of respectful and equitable communication. Diversity Awareness Raising awareness on the importance of diversity and its implications in social and educational environments. Accessibility in Digital Communication Ensuring that digital content is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. Inclusive Language: Embracing Gender-Sensitive Communication Strategies Learning to adopt gender-inclusive language and respect diverse gender identities. Inclusive Representation in the Media Identifying media biases and promoting fair, inclusive, and non-stereotypical representations. Develop Your Inclusive Communication Strategy Building a practical strategy to implement inclusive communication within one’s organisation or practice. Intercultural Communication: Addressing Discrimination Against Migrants and Ethnic Communities Using intercultural dialogue to fight discrimination and foster understanding. Empowering Human Rights Advocacy through Communication Leveraging communication as a tool for equality, inclusion, and human rights advocacy. The Toolbox is freely available on the ALL-IN project’s online platform. Participants who complete the modules and pass the self-assessment tests will receive a certificate of completion, validating their knowledge and skills in inclusive communication. This resource is designed for educators, youth workers, trainers, public institutions, and anyone committed to creating a more inclusive society through language and communication. To enhance participant engagement, WP3 integrates several gamified tools such as: Card game: Trivia, true/false, glossary questions… This game promotes active learning through the use of varied dynamics that stimulate memory, quick thinking and understanding of key concepts. Bingo game: A single or multi-player game to learn vocabulary related to inclusive communication. Bingo is a playful tool that allows practice and reinforcement of vocabulary in a fun way. Its competitive and dynamic format maintains attention and improves the acquisition of terms through contextualised repetition. Fill-in-the-blanks game: Texts with gaps to fill in with the correct words. This activity encourages reading comprehension and the practical application of the knowledge acquired, as it forces the player to interpret the context in order to select the right word. Raise awareness game. This game is designed to raise awareness about social or ethical issues (such as inclusion, diversity or empathy) in an interactive way. These elements make learning more dynamic and memorable, helping participants put theory into practice.
