Internet Web Solutions hosts multiplier event to present the results of the NICHE 2 Project

Internet Web Solutions (IWS) hosted a multiplier event for the European project NICHE 2 on 8 July 2026 at the premises of project associated partner Arrabal, in Málaga. The event brought together 17 participants representing the project’s target groups, including entrepreneurs, intangible cultural heritage (ICH) practitioners, professionals and other stakeholders interested in the preservation, development and sustainable management of cultural heritage. The event provided an opportunity to present the NICHE 2 project, its objectives, development process and main results, giving participants an overview of the work carried out throughout the different phases of the project. Supporting the green and digital transition of cultural heritage NICHE 2 is a Cooperation Partnership in the field of Vocational Education and Training (VET), co-financed by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The project aims to empower practitioners working in the field of Intangible Cultural Heritage with the knowledge, competences and practical tools needed to navigate and contribute to the green and digital transition, while supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Building on the experience and results of the previous NICHE initiative, NICHE 2 focuses on capacity building, innovation and sustainability within the cultural heritage ecosystem. The project has developed tailored training resources designed to respond to the evolving needs of professionals and practitioners working with intangible cultural heritage. During the multiplier event, participants were introduced to the different stages of the project’s development, from the initial identification of needs and the development of training resources to the final implementation of the project’s educational and digital tools. Particular attention was given to the NICHE 2 training programme, which provides learning resources aimed at strengthening the competences required to address environmental sustainability, digitalisation and sustainable development in the field of intangible cultural heritage. Introducing the NICHE 2 online platform A key part of the event was the presentation of the NICHE 2 online platform, where the project’s training materials and resources are hosted. Participants were able to explore the platform and learn how its digital resources can be used to support professional learning and competence development. The platform provides an accessible environment through which practitioners and other interested stakeholders can access the project’s educational content and benefit from the resources developed within NICHE 2. The event also offered an opportunity for participants to exchange views and provide feedback on the project’s results and resources. The discussions highlighted the relevance of providing cultural heritage practitioners with practical tools and accessible learning opportunities to respond to the challenges associated with the green and digital transformation of the sector. The multiplier event in Málaga formed part of the project’s wider dissemination and exploitation activities, helping to raise awareness of NICHE 2 and extend the reach of its results beyond the project partnership. Through initiatives such as this event, Internet Web Solutions and the NICHE 2 partnership continue to promote the development of a more innovative, sustainable and digitally prepared cultural heritage ecosystem, supporting professionals and practitioners in adapting their skills to the changing needs of the sector.

NICHE 2 Completes WP3 Curricula and Operational Tools and Launches Pilot Testing Phase

The NICHE 2 project has successfully completed Work Package 3 – NICHE 2 Curricula and Operational Tools, marking an important milestone in the implementation of the project. WP3 was carried out from August 2025 to May 2026 and consisted of three main activities: preparation, development of the NICHE 2 curricula and operational tools, and translation of the training material into the six partners’ languages. The main objectives of WP3 were to co-validate, with the contributions of target group representatives, the proposed learning outcomes framework and competence-building model of NICHE 2, and to enhance the capacities of ICH operators to navigate the twin transition. WP3 also aimed to support ICH operators in developing new green business practices and acquiring innovative competences and skills for sustainable development. As part of WP3, seven modules have been developed and are now available online to support professionals and organisations working in the field of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) in strengthening their green and sustainable competences. Each module consists of three training units. The modules cover the following topics: In June 2026, the project also launched Work Package 4 – NICHE 2 Pilot and Validation activities. This work package focuses on pilot testing and validating of the newly developed and translated curriculum and operational tools with 160 target group representatives, including ICH operators, VET professionals and other facilitators. The pilot phase aims to evaluate and validate the training materials co-developed within WP3. On 16 June 2026, the NICHE 2 project partners held their third Transnational Project Meeting online. During the meeting, partners discussed project management, administrative aspects, budget and reporting, monitoring, quality assurance and evaluation, the NICHE 2 Open Educational Resource Platform, dissemination activities, as well as the next steps for the successful implementation of the project. The NICHE 2 project is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership in Vocational Education and Training, co-financed by the European Commission. Bringing together seven partners from six countries (Croatia, France, Iceland, Italy, Belgium and Spain), the project equips ICH practitioners with the knowledge, tools and tailored training resources they need to lead the green and digital transition in line with sustainable development goals, while fostering innovation and sustainability across the cultural heritage ecosystem. Evidence, examples and GreenComp Matrix to accelerate ICH’s green transition NICHE 2 has published the full results of Work Package 2 (WP2), now available in multiple languages on the project platform. From Iceland to Italy, France, Spain and Croatia, WP2 has turned fragmented knowledge into usable guidance for practitioners, educators and policymakers working where Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) meets sustainability. What’s new online 1) Executive Summary A consolidated mapping and analysis completed by each partner at country level and from an EU-wide perspective that Synthesises national findings on ICH’s role, readiness and risks in the green transition, and directly informs the co-design of the upcoming NICHE 2 Training Programme Walks readers from situational analysis to actionable insights: sector dynamics; inhibitors and challenges; support systems and best practices; and the skills/competences needed for the transition Is intended as a strategic tool for future training, policy and funding, useful beyond the project partnership. 2) Best Practices Collection (12 cases) A curated portfolio that covers five partner countries and EU-level initiatives, reflecting diverse actors, themes and territorial scales. It showcases a breadth of dimensions relevant to ICH and sustainability, including: ICH preservation & transmission Green management models for community museums and venues Policy frameworks and funding conditionalities Smart governance & technological innovation for low-impact tourism Training programmes Sustainable tourism Circular approaches / eco-design 3) The GreenComp Matrix An operational matrix developed by partners to link the training needs emerging from the mapping with the competences of the European Commission’s GreenComp framework. The matrix is used to derive clear learning outcomes for the forthcoming NICHE 2 training offer and to ensure methodological robustness and traceability from evidence to curriculum. What happens next WP2 outputs feed directly into the design of the NICHE 2 Training Programme (WP3), combining technical modules with reflection-based learning and culturally sensitive dialogue so practitioners can safeguard heritage and steward environmental change responsibly.
